Kalipo’s fifth solo album Alles embraces the tension between opposites. It is an exploration of light and darkness, fragility and force, introspection and collective euphoria. With two decades of experience behind him, Kalipo refines his craft into a sound that is unmistakably personal yet fully connected to the DNA of Berlin’s club culture.
The title track captures this balance beautifully: heavy and hypnotic at first, then gradually lifting into brightness. Crimson Rain pulsates with vintage snares and industrial undertones, while Geister and All Things Must Come to an End lean toward the spectral, blending melancholic guitars with deep basslines. Throughout, Kalipo’s voice—laconic, vulnerable, and insistent—anchors the emotional weight.
His chosen label “Psychedelic Disco Punk” rings true: punk’s defiance collides with the emotional depth of classic songwriting and the physical force of club music. Alles is not mere nostalgia—it’s music that speaks to the present moment, turning inner conflict into collective release. A brave and luminous record that extends the vocabulary of dark disco.
