Barbara Nicole presents Dirty Dutch Vol.1

Sultry songstress Barbara Nicole brings you Dirty Dutch Vol.1, the eighth release on groundbreaking label Good Crazy, available 6th December.

Barbara Nicole reunites with her dream team from MORE OF ME EP: Dutch masters-of-production ST..N and FortySevn (aka Luxe Agoris and Raville). And the results are simply stunning. She takes two stonewall classics from her teenage years, smashes them into the present day and hands them to you, gift wrapped with a bow, just in time for Christmas.

The first track, Common People, is an ingenious reworking of Pulp’s 1995 classic. Press play. Close your eyes. Let Barbara Nicole transport you to a packed dancefloor, the throng of adrenaline-soaked bodies beckoning you into its scrum. Sinister Casiotone keys are sparsely sprinkled over the top of a relentless drum machine, subverting the bright major chords of the original and dragging it kicking and screaming thirty years into the future, for Barbara Nicole to have her wicked way with it. Her vocals sub-octave down tuned, smother this darkwave-tech-demon in lavish layers of the finest, filthiest monotone sleaze.

As you recover from just how crazy good track one is, Barbara Nicole literally brings you SexyBack. And this time, it’s even sexier. You’re going to hear this one dropped by the finest DJs across the globe in 2025 as they get the party started in New York lofts, Berlin power stations and beaches from Bali to Buenos Aires. This is Hi-NRG, acid-washed electroclash. Barbara Nicole pins you up against the wall, kicks your legs open and sings one inch from your lips, eye to eye, mesmerizing and menacing you in equal measure, before calling you with the most sumptuous siren call, dashing onto her rocky shores.

Barbara Nicole tells us more. “Dirty Dutch Vol. 1 brings back positive memories of California since it marked the first time collaborating with my Dirty Dutch brothers. On Common People, I enjoyed leaning into a dark, dead pan style of vocal delivery. With SexyBack, my muse called upon me to release a siren call, and I answered (which came really naturally). You first hear it in the intro and then arpeggiated throughout the track. These covers mark the first of a few Dirty Dutch volumes, all dark interpretations of classics.”

Dirty Dutch Vol.1 is the perfect start to a prolific burst of creativity, with several amazing releases already in the pipeline from Barbara Nicole. 2025 is set to be her finest yet. Excited? You will be.
